This time around, I thought I would make the obey gooey cake mix cookies with brownie batter, but this recipe needs some assistance. I combined one egg, one stick of butter, and one brick (8oz) of cream cheese. The brownie batter I bought was a small 10 oz bag so I added 1/2C of flour, but after resting in the fridge I realized that was not enough. In hopes to fix the issue, I made a second batch with an additional 1/3c flour and a dash of baking powder to fluff them up. I rolled them in powered sugar before baking which helped create a more round ball and added mini Reese’s Pieces to both the batter and the top of each cookie. They also needed some additional baking time so I do not even have a recommended time or temperature. I think they are on the right path, but still need some work so they will not be a part of the cookie swap this year!
Ingredients
- Brownie Mix (next time I would use and 180z cake mix)
- 1 stick of butter, softened
- 1 8oz brick cream cheese, softened
- Powdwereed sugar
- flour (depends on how much the cake mix company decides to put in the box)
- mini Reese’s Peeces
No instructions as the recipe still needs some tweaking; however the cookies are tasty!
